Steve and Marjorie Harvey Celebrate Thanksgiving By Feeding More Than 6,000 Families Around the Country On Monday, November 23rd

Atlanta, Georgia (November 17, 2009) - On November 23, 2009, entertainer-radio & television personality-author Steve Harvey and his wife Marjorie will celebrate the spirit of the holiday, by giving away more than 6,000 turkeys to needy families across the country. In conjunction with this display of giving, Steve and Marjorie will also host "Steve Harvey's Big Turkey Give Day" in Chicago with two daytime events in the cities of Markham and Chicago. During these events, the Harveys will personally give away 1,000 turkeys and 1,000 ropes of turkey sausage courtesy of Hillshire Farm to Chicago-area residents.

As part of the nationwide giveaway, Mr. & Mrs. Harvey will team up with Steve Harvey Morning Show affiliate stations in 53 markets to distribute thousands of turkeys, with live on-air gives taking place in 10 of those markets. Sam's Club will coordinate delivery of the turkeys to each location for pick-up by the Steve Harvey Morning Show affiliates. For this time of year coming together with loved ones over warm meals, it was important to the Harveys to give turkeys to those that may be in need, to share with their families and someone else that may be without. In conjunction with V103/WVAZ-FM in Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey will do two personal giveaways in Markham and Chicago for "Steve Harvey's Big Turkey Give Day," for two special events that include the turkey and Hillshire Farm turkey sausage giveaways, health screenings, music, prizes and games. 1,000 turkeys will be distributed starting at 11:00am (CST) at Adrianna's, located at 2024 West 163rd Street in Markham, while at the second event; in conjunction with Hillshire Farm, Mr. & Mrs. Harvey will distribute 1,000 turkey sausages at the Lawndale Christian Health Center, located at 3860 West Ogden Avenue in Chicago starting at 2:00pm (CST).

Featured on the cover of the December 2009 issue of Essence Magazine, Steve & Marjorie share how they love to help others through various charitable endeavors, including two annual mentoring weekend programs for 200 high school students, a four-day mentoring event during Father's Day Weekend on Steve's ranch in Dallas, TX and the Disney Dreamers Academy, a career-oriented seminar at Disney World in Orlando, FL. The Steve Harvey Morning Show has also been instrumental in being an effective agent of change in the community. Says Steve, "I'm in the help portion of my life and it feels great to have an opportunity to make an imprint instead of just jokes."
